I'm most of the way through installing some new handlebars on my 02 Road King with internal wiring.
I found a very helpful 'how to' online for the wiring and have been very careful to follow it. As the bars are a little wider than the standard ones I purchased a wiring extension kit (Namz) and have fitted it and heat shrink wrapped the wires.
I dremelled the rough edges off the holes in the bars prior to feeding the wires through to prevent snagging and refitted the Deutsch connectors as per the diagram. I have tried to be as careful and methodical as I can. I thought I'd better make sure everything worked before reassembling the headlight etc but unfortunately it doesn't! The horn and dip/main beam switch seems to work but the indicators, passing lights and 'off/on' button don't do anything (and consequently nor does the starter button obviously). Nor does the stop light from the front brake lever.
I guess I've either broken something inadvertently or overlooked something obvious or made some other schoolboy error due to not being an expert. I can't see what I've done wrong so I wondered if this sounds familiar to anyone?
I purchased the "Namz" extensions and they didn't workout. The male and female ends that plug together and heat shrink broke on several of the connections just from making the bends in the bars. I had to pull wires back out and solder wires. What a waist of money that was, purchasing the extensions!!!

Wow, that's harsh as they weren't cheap (here in the uk anyways). Thanks for all your replies, I have some pain in the *** investigating to do
Double check Deutch connections that they are plugged in all the way. Take apart control housing and do a continuity test to see if you have power running up there. My buddy and I just installed his 12" MB and the radio controls wouldn't work. Found out the plug wasnt fully seated in the back of the radio. Thank God that was it! Good luck.

Good advice. I also found loose pins in a few connectors. You must make sure the pins are out as far as they go and then lock the connector.
