I have a 12 streetglide 103 without ABS I am thinking that I made a mistake my 08 streetglide had it,but got in a hurry buying this one. Well .... I am wondering if I can put ABS on my 12 with factory parts? Anyone tried this crazy feat? Thank you in advance for all your help.
if you really, really think you made a mistake, check with your dealer about trading in your bike for one with it. most of the time, you'll get raped, but every now and again you read about some lucky sob who was able to trade in his <1 yr old bike and get a new one for very little out of pocket. course, it wouldn't happen to me, but it never hurts to check.....
Often where you really get raped is the taxes. In Michigan, for example, if you trade in a car or bike, you pay the sales tax on the full amount of the new car, not just the marginal difference on the trade. Looks like California is the same way: http://www.boe.ca.gov/sutax/faqpurch.htm#9
When I bought my Fat Bob I asked them the same question and I was told "yes you can add it later, but it would be VERY expensive". I didnt want ABS, I was just curious.
Thank you all well ... you all have cured my curiosity. Will stick with my non ABS bike
That's not a bad choice at all. For me personally, I don't think the ABS is all that great anyway. I haven't done it yet, but I have considered disabling mine.
Don't understand why I couldn't add the ABS factory parts and reflash the ECM. Well just a thought.
you probably could add all the parts but i doubt you would find a dealer that would be willing to accept the risk for reflashing the ecm.

i think they lied. ask them how much to reflash the ecm because you've picked up all the parts from a wrecked bike and have switched them over to your bike. i bet they change their tune.
