Default Tall guy needing seat help!

Alright, I've read threads on here till my eyes bled, googled a thousand times and read everything I could. I'm a bigger fella at 6'3'' 290lbs, 36 inseam...and I need a new seat for my 2001 RK.

Basically I want to be moved back and down if possible, also leaning towards a solo seat with a pillion when the wife wants to ride. My confusion is on every seat, this guy says it moves you back, the other guy says it moves you up, the next guy says down, up, sideways...

I need some solid feedback, suggestions on a good seat for a tall guy on an old RK???

Is a Harley Tallboy Seat available for your 2001?

If it is, I would start there. I still needed more room so I had my local Upholstery guy re-work it for me to give me another couple inches back.

i'm 6'1" with a 34 inch inseam and i'm running a rallyrunner on my street glide. Made a huge difference for me but remember the further you move back the less room the ol' lady has. It probably gave me an extra 1.5" and its not bad for her but i wouldn't want it to be any further back for her sake.

Most of what I read on the tallboy says it moves you up, kind of like your on top of the bike. I want to move back and down a little.

Actually haven't looked at the rallyrunner, doing some reading now. Not worried about her room back there, I'm a big 'ol boy but she's maybe a 110lb so she can almost fit in my pocket.

You'll be fine then, i know what you mean about sitting on top of the bike because the seat i had on my wide glide felt that way. The Rallyrunner doesnt sit that way at all, it's low profile but takes some time to get broke in. You can pick them up used for around $200 if you watch ebay and the forums.

I hate the feeling of sitting too high on the bike. I remember I rode my dad's Ultra Classic once and it felt like my butt was above the top of the tank. Yes it was comfortable, but not my preferred riding position by any means.

I appreciate the info.

I'm only 6' with 36" inseam. The corbin I have on my '00 king works great for me. It is lower and longer plus the passenger seat slides right on and the backrest just moves back. Takes alittle more time to bolt the rear boards on?
