Question o2 sensor question

I have a 2007 electra glide ultra with a stage 1 kit. Rush slip ons and a power commander tuner. A while back when I was having a starter problem I noticed that the o2 sensor on the rear pipe wasnt plugged in. I found the other end and it had a plastic cover over it, so I have to believe it was unplugged intentionally. The bike runs fine as far as I can tell and its been that way since I bought it. My question is, is this normal? Does it have anything to do with the tuner? And what could I damage if I plug it back in and what would I gain if I did?
Thanks in advance!

power commander doesnt use the 02 sensors, for 07 the plastic cover is a terminated cap supplied by power commander.

An 02 sensor controls emissions and yes the performance of your engine. It achieves the " perfect AFR" air fuel ratio which is someplace around 14.7 to 1 I believe. In your case, your PC does it for you. In others case it's measuring hydrocarbons vs air mixture and telling the ECM how much fuel to spray.

Okey doke as long as its "normal", just weird that the front one is still plugged in and the rear ones not. Bike runs great so I guess I will stop worrying about it. Thanks!

they should both be unplugged with pc111 or pcv with terminated caps in both, the power commander will usually be set to add more fuel in some rpm and throttle positions, the o2 sensors will read that as a rich condition and try to lean the motor.14.7-1 is perfect in a liquid cooled motor but generates to much heat and can lead to predetonation (pinging) in an air cooled motor.

that is a little strange, as you would usually unplug them both....but if it runs good, I say leave it the way it is

They should both be disconnected if your using a PC V if they are connected the ECM will try to override the MAP that the PC V is using and lean out the engine.

I'd try disconnectingbthefront sensor as well and see how it runs.

Ok I will give it a shot and unplug the front. Oops just saw the post about having to cap it. Guess I will just let it be for now. I have wanted to get it dyno tuned, so I guess I have a reason now, so someone who knows what should be can look at it and figure it out! Thats the only drawback to buying a good used bike is you never know who did what to it before you got it and it sometimes leaves you scratching your head and saying why is it like that?

An '07 should be using a PC-III. Take a look at the module, it's written on it. If it is a PC-III you should have both O2 sensors unplugged & "O2 eliminators" plugged into the harness. The accompanying pictures show an "eliminator" & what it looks like plugged in.
