I am performing my first full service at 10,000 miles. This is the first time I have changed all 3 fluids. Can you fill the primary on the jiffy stand, or do you need to have it level on a lift?
I'm just wondering if 38 oz of oil will overflow the inspection cover opening if on the jiffy stand?
I put a jack under it just to get the bike level. Then just fill the oil till it just barely touches the bottom of the clutch pack. On my 2010 it's about 1 and 1/2 quarts or so.
THe bike needs to be upright and level and fill to the bottom of the clutch spring!
Not on the jiffy stand!
I misspoke. Yes, the bike needs to be level so that the oil touches the bottom of the spring, but....
The question was if the primary can be filled with 38 oz on the side stand, and yes, it can. If you know how much to put in, you can do it on the side stand.
