Has anyone installed an ipod interface on their bike yet? I have a 2011 Ultra Classic with CB and Intercom. I just installed the iPod interface from Iron Cross Audio and have a question. How in the world do you get the fairing back together with that big *** plug adapter in it? I have fought this thing for two hours trying to get it back together and it won't go no matter how hard I've tried. Am I missing something?
While I have a street glide, I just installed the same interface. I just made sure that the large adapter was pushed down, not too much, but enough that I was successful in getting the fairing back together. I have had it apart a couple of times since (issues with the amp and spkrs) and back together without a problem.
I have three modules (CB, XM, iPod) and a 500 watt amp in mine. I had to call my girlfriend out to the garage the first time I was putting it all together and ask her advice and expertise on packing luggage.
Well I finally got it installed. Man what a pain. Works well so far though.
Glad you solved the problem; enjoy the new module.
To help others, post on your solution and post a picture if you can.
Personally, I've added the HD iPod and CB modules and two RF amps on top of the HK radio and it's taken me several cycles of installing and removing the fairing, and adjusting the wiring harnesses each time to get to the point where the outer fairing goes on with zero interference.
