Does anyone have a recommendation on how to eliminate some of the vibration from the engine? The bike is 12 years old and I was thinking maybe some part that can be replaced.
Can you describe the vibration? At idle? Highway speeds?
Your bike has a rubber mounted engine and shakes like a paint shaker at idle, this is normal. It should smooth out nicely once underway. Is it something else?
It could be the rubber mounts on the motor or worse...the flywheel needs to be retrued. I have a bad vibration on my 05 especially on the tour pack and the left side saddlebag. Just found out the other day the left saddlebag support bracket on the rear fender is cracked. Read it happens a lot to guys. Check the brackets and also your exhaust connections for cracks or loose connections. Also could be wheels/tires/rotors. Could speculate all day.
