Years ago while still running around on my FXR2 I decided that one day I would buy a touring bike. Put off by the Ultra and not crazy about the Roadglide fairing, I decided after renting one for a week that the Road King would be the one.

In 2006 the MoCo introduced the StreetGlide. Fell in love with the first one I saw.

Kept riding the FXR2 and then finally in 2010 I bit for a new StreetGlide. Couldnt be happier with this bike. Fairing with radio, bags plenty big enough to haul what I needed, and it still has the look of a street racer, especially with the bags removed.

It is no wonder to me why the StreetGlide is Harley's Number 1 selling bike today.

Both great bikes. You can't go wrong with either. It comes down to personal preference.

I much prefer the look of the RK and specifically the RKC. Probably my age. I started riding in 1969 and have always had in my mind that is what a Harley should look like. I'm not a fan of the plastic look of the hard bags or fairings, but that's just me.

The 2011 RKC has the 103" btw whereas the 2011 RK has the 96" (both are 103 in 2012). I think the RKC and Street Glide are priced almost the same--give or take $100.

I just did my first tour on the RKC--5 days up and down the coast on lots of different kinds of roads. I've put a little over 5,000 miles on it since I got it in mid-December. There is nothing I don't love about this bike.
