Default Seats

I know this has been posted million X, but I am in search of the perfect seat.
My 07 FLHT has the oem, which is quite cozy for both the MRS and I, but it does keep me a little to forward. She has ample room but riding solo or 2 up I feel a tad crowded.
I have read about every review on the Tallboy, badlander, yadadadadah that I could find.
I came from an 07 FXDL and loved that with the oem seat and forward controls. I had done Sturgis on the Dyna and the 700 miles was actually not to bad, other than limited positions. The EG gives me more movement but doesn't allow me to "slouch" as much as I would like. Last year the same Sturgis trip left me uncomfortable in a crowded sense.
Thursday night I went onto Dennis Kirk and grabbed a Mustang Daytripper, thinking this looked close to the Dyna seat, and Yikes, not what I was after. Astetically it looked like mini pad in a pair of panties versus the Maxi pad the oem looks like.
Nothing at all wrong with the seat from their standpoint, but it left me feeling like I had no body control over the bike. The factory saddle puts me in the bike rather than on the bike, and I guess I have grown accustom to that versus my Dyna.
I have a 34" inseam so like to stretch my legs a bit (have pegs set right where I like them on the crash bar) and I just need to go back about 2".
The Mustang is headed back to DK and I am thinking of ordering the Tallboy today from the local MoCo.

Just curious if anyone else can relate and found a "cure" with the Tallboy?
I can appreciate all the options out there, but am looking for specifics on going from oem to a Tallboy. Thanks for the input...

I over-researched this for the last few weeks. Unfortunately what I've found is this: everyone has their own opinion...because everyone has a different build and a different rear!

I finally decided on a Mustang Solo and pillion, plus ordering footboard and control relocators (moves everything forwat 2'').

yep - opinions are going to vary widely - I also over-researched this (6'8" 36" inseam) and ended up with a Corbin Dual Touring Saddle. Because it's custom built, they'll do anything you want. In my case, I had them move me back as much as they could (2-2.5 inches), this at the cost of a backrest. I'm also getting the tourpak backrest to match and taking slightly less than an inch of foam out to move the boss lady back a little farther. Hope this helps

This seat option rocks. www.meancitycycles.com
Custom seat with memory foam.
Put it on my street glide. custom fit to you height and weight, using stock seat pan, best bang for the buck

I have a gal within a few miles who had done a camper top on one of our boats, and I see she is still at it so have considered going and seeing her for a "custom" set up wih my oem.
I just like the fact of being able to grab something, bring it home, pop it on and give it the yay or nay versus dropping it off for a couple of days.
Alot of members rave about MeanCityCycles, but there to, I have to pull it, send it to them, and then wait for its return.
I have read good things about the HD Tallboy but none of the local stealers stock it.
St Croix Harley had said they were going to get a bunch in (seats in general-tiz the season), in about 3 weeks so I can go try one.
Dennis Kirk has an excellent return policy so I don't have to eat the $300 on the Mustang, but I don't want to drive them nuts by playing the buy it, ship it, return it game with them.
just figured I would throw a post out and see if anyone had been down the same road I am on.
Thank you gentleman for the responses,
ride safe.........
