I just scored a pair on eBay for $365.00 includes shipping, was wondering from anyone using these if I should change the springs to the softer springs? Being that the guy was selling it cause they were too stiff. I ride 90 percent solo @ 240lb, and when I take my wife she adds 175lb.
Also how much does progressive charge to swap springs?
Cost me about 75 bucks to have the softer springs put on. 15 bucks a shock and the rest was shipping. I weigh 190 and the softer springs did not help. Still too stiff for around town. On the high way and smooth roads they were great. Way to many pot holes here in Michigan.....
At 240 you should be ok. The cutoff that most of us are at is about 210 or less riding solo. If you think you need the softer springs call Progressive Tech Support and ask for Frank they are changing them out free all you have to pay is one way shipping to them by USPS flat rate Box that less than 10.00
There are a lot of threads on the on this forum read up
I'm 250#, wife around 150#. I've got them set up so their plush with her on board, which is comfortably firm when riding solo. I couldn't be happier with them. Don't have much more room to soften them up if we were to both loose a bunch of weight. Though I don't see that happening soon.
Usmotoman 459 if you call them and ask for the old price you saw on eBay and the forums they increased to 479 recently but have been honoring the old price
