Default Wiring Question

Hi everyone,

I am in the process of gathering all of the materials needed to install some new 12.5" PY Bagger Bars on my new 2012 SG. I have 3 questions for the experts out there:

1. Is there a wiring harness that anyone sells that includes the stock connectors on both ends like factory but is longer for these types of bars? Similar to a car stereo, and so they do not have to be extended with soldering and new wire, etc...?

2. My bike has ABS on it, and I have heard that if there is a need to change the brake lines, it will cause major problems with the ABS. Is there any truth to this?

3. How many hours is fair for a dealer to install these. I am pretty handy, but do not think I am inclined to take on a job like this as the wiring scares me a little.

I know I can probably do a more detailed search than I already have, but what the hay!

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

1. kits available from places like NAMZ, etc. but they are pin and socket wires and you would have to assemble the connectors with them.

2. no

3. dealer would probably charge you about 6-8 hours for it.

The job is easier then you think. Yes, very time comsuming... Here is a link to my ape install. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to pm me and I will give you my number. I did not use any wiring extensions. Too much money for something I did myself for a fraction of the cost. Any my stock wires went through my 14" apes and had 4-6 inches left sticking out the end. All my soldering is outside of the bars... Here is the link to help you.
