A friend of mine was looking for a '11 CVO Inferno Orange street glide, finally found one at this dealership. After a fellow forum member verified the condition(since we're 800 miles away),he placed a $5000 deposit from his credit card at 1 PM.He tried reaching the sales manager after giving all his info to the Business manager. But he wouldn't answer or return his multiple calls. At 8PM,he recieved a phone call back from the GM saying that the bike had sold before they could process the down payment.Sounds very fishy and unprofessional to me,if the GM knew he had a guaranteed sale with deposit, why would he "resell" it to someone else.Even if the other buyer was in the showroom, the bike was pre sold.Or is this just a tactic to get more than asking by creating a fake bidding war between the dealer and buyer since we're so far away and can't verify that the bike actually sold.
Isn't this similar to your last post. Weren't you warned about Yankee?

Warned and didn't listen......
Try over to CVOHarley.com they occasionally have some very nice bikes listed in the for sale by member thread. You'll have to sign up to view the classifieds but its free.
Yeah,we were warned, but after he talked to the GM in the morning, then getting the bike verified. He figured what could go wrong?I mean the bike is exactly what he was looking for and he was OK with the price. He wasn't trying to reduce it.After placing the deposit,He was expecting paperwork to be faxed to him,not a call to say the bike had been sold after his deposit!
We figured they are a Harley dealer, and must have some kind of policy in place for this kind of transaction. But I guess crooked people make there way in all types of businesses.SUCKS!
Yes I'm registered on CVOharley and check every day. Also Ebay, there was one but payment was going to be an issue(Cash or certified cheque) so he didn't place a bid.If the seller would have accepted a credit card deposit,he would've bought it.

Do a search on cvo harley there was a killer b/o a few months back with a tourpack and professionally built motor in the Mid Atalantic area low mileage and clean as a whistle.
Be patient and the right deal and dealer will come along.
