Default HK radio and backlight

Rode in today on my 2011 RGC and noticed the lighting on HK unit flickering and now it looks out. Anyone experience this? I'm figuring a new unit will b needed but any feedback appreciated. BTW- still plays CDs and functions ok.

If it's still under warranty, just get it replaced. there are a dozen possible causes for flickering backlights. The most common is liquid damage.
There is no "light". The illumination is supplied by 41 LEDs. They all dont go bad at once, so if there is an illumination issue, it's a bit more involved than just a bulb.

I lost the backlight and then the display on my '06.
The radios were replaced under the ESP warranty.

There are lots of posts here about this problem.

Doesn't the HD dealerships replace defective units with refurbished units?

If it was something I couldn't fix myself, and if mine was out of warranty, I believe I would send it to Iron Cross and let those guys perform all of the upgrades rather than deal with someone else's "used" but temporarily "fixed" refurb unit. But that's just me.

If out of warranty send it to Iron Cross; they do excellent work and a quick turn around.
