I have a 2012 Street Glide with V&H Power Duals and slip-ons, SE stage 1 air kit and i'm looking for a tuner. I've heard the PC isn't good for the 103ci. Anyone used one or the other or heard good or bad?
I seriously doubt that what you heard is good information. There are a ton of 103's out there running the PC. That said, for more flexibility tuning-wise, the SEPST is probably your better choice of the three you mentioned. There are other alternatives also, like Revolution Performance, TTS, Thundermax, etc. All of them have their devotees. Your decision should center around 'how much capability do I really want / need from a tuner, how much do I want to spend, etc.' For many, the PC or FuelPak seems to fit the bill quite nicely. Good luck.
I'm not going to be doing any engine mods, i'm just lookin to get a good runnin/ breathing motor.
Same here.. just wanted to richen it up a little.. better sound.. and to run a little cooler... ended up with all that.. plus runs smoother and more responsive
I've got the PC-V on my 103" 2011. I absolutely love it, but I will say Fuel Moto is the biggest reason I love it.
I know no matter what I decide to change on the bike in the future, a new map is only an email or a phone call away. I also know, if the map they send isn't quite perfect, I send another email or make another phone call to explain what I don't like and guess what?? Another map shows up in my inbox.
I've got a nice and rich map for stop and go traffic or parade duty in the heat of the summer, I've got a lean map that gets great gas mileage if I'm traveling very far, I've got a nice balance of the two also that I usually run. Hell I just asked them one day if they had any good maps for an SE255 cam and an hour later I've got that map saved as well and I haven't even bought the cams yet.
I'm sure there are other good tuners out there, but the customer service from Fuel Moto is unbelievable. My buddy has the screaming eagle tuner in his bike and it runs awesome, but mine does too. But... He's thinking of switching cams which means another expensive trip to the dealership for a new tune.
So yes, I have the PC-V in a 103" bike, it works great, and I would recommend it.
But, if you get it, buy it from Fuel Moto.
I've used the SE Pro Race Tuner and currently use the Revolution Performance EMS Precision autotuner, both of which work really well, I've added SE204 cams 103 Jugs and Pistons and did some mild port work to the heads, bike runs great! I have several friends that use the PC-V and the Power Vision Tuners on their 103's and they work just fine, it all comes down to a personal choice, but yes the PC-V and Power Vision or SE Racetuner Pro would work just fine on your 103.
