Just got a new Aspen tent trailer and was wondering if anyone tows and rides 2up? My old trailer was alot lighter and im wondering if the new setup is to much for the bike. Wife and I are just under 500lbs together and trailer is around 400 loaded. Bike is 04 Electra Glide Classic
Wife and I have well over 100k miles two-up pulling tent trailers.
Acceleration is a little slower, braking takes a little longer, and maneuvering is different being so much longer.
Wife and I are about 340 combined, but we have had the trailer with contents as much as 500, and another 75-100 combined in the saddlebags and Tour-Pak.
In the 88 I put some HQ 500 cams in for some extra low end grunt. In the 96 all I ever did was a Stage 1. In our current bike, a 103, it also has only a Stage 1.
The only other thing I did was put a Jagg oil cooler on each of them.
i have an 06 Sg with a tc 88" and pull a american legends trailer.Combined we weigh 350,trailer loaded 250.Hills need to downshift, fuel off by couple of mpg.Oil cooler(6 row Jagg)usually dont get over 200 deg 70/80 outside temp.HQ 0034 cams helped. Now I have a s&s 97" with T-man heads/625 cam and it screams even with all our crap....and we dont camp uncomfortably.
We had over 90K on our '02 (2 up with a trailer). Went from an 88 to a 95 w/Stage I and it pulled great. Just got the trailer back from the body shop and am anxious to see how the new 103 w/Stage I will pull it.

Motor, intake and exhaust wise, my 06 Road King is bone stock. I have no problems pulling my Leesure Lite (375 lbs loaded), full tour pak and saddle bags, as well as myself (200 lbs) and co-pilot (110 lbs).
