Had a local shop install these in my 12" Monkey Bagger Bars. They never really got that hot and the right side even less. I saw that they had used connectors off the head light for power. I read in a thread if you solder the connections it will solve this problem. I did this and now the left side gets blazing hot while the right seems about the same as before. Thanks for any help you can offer.
I have them on my 08, they get so hot on setting #2, I rarely use it, even in Maine. I do have stock bars.
I think you answered your own question. If they didn't work right, and you re-soldered the joints, and one started working correctly, I would bet you have a bad connection/cold solder joint somewhere in the wiring. I'd take the wiring apart, and check all the connections again....
