So I assume the FOB's lost or dead and there's a special "procedure" to start bike without it. Don't need the procedure, just where to find it in the manual, assuming it's in there and wasn't a supplement from the dealer I lost.

Thanks for the help. Also like the idea of keeping battery in spare FOB upside down. Will do that too.

In the owner manual there is a tear out wallet card with the instructions and a place to write down your code. You do know that don't you?
If you don't know the code then the procedure for finding it and or changing it are in the owners manual.
If you can't find your manual you can set up a profile on the Harley-Davidson web site in the owners section a view the owners manual online.

You could lace on your extra fob to your boot for the trip.
Need to commit to memory the no fob start. May need it!
I practice mine from time to time...

Thanks fellas. I'll look into that when I get home.

I do have the cards but never looked at them, or remember looking at them.

Appreciate all the help.

its in a couple of places in the owners manual. look under 'hands free security' and it will show you the procedure for setting/changing codes, retrieving codes, and, most importantly, how to use the code. there is also a couple of wallet sized tear out cards in the back of the manual that explains how to use the manual override.

its not a bad idea to 'practice' the procedure every now and again so that when/if you ever have to use it, you will be able to with a minimum of fuss. i think it is easy enough to do that i don't waste my time with spare batteries, changing them out every year, etc. i just go about my business until the battery in my fob dies, then i use the manual override and stop at the grocery store, dollar store, etc. and pick up a new battery.
