Thinking of getting the quick detach kit for my Ultra and would like to know from those who have done this mod if there is anything they don't like about it. Does it still seem solid when the tour pack is put back on the bike?
My TourPak is only on for road trips or if I have to go shopping on the bike. So in my case I love the detachable kit. If you're addicted to your TourPak and it's spacious capacity then you may not remove it much. In my case I prefer the stripped down bike most of the time, so the detachable is a must.
It's plenty sturdy in my experience. No problem with that. Though on a road trip I do remove the TP and bring it into the motel room with me (don't have the lockable latches). Not a big deal, just saying that's what I do.
