It only reduces your chance of being killed. Some statistics say that that most fatalities are caused by blunt force trauma to the chest, but other stats say the head. All and all it reduces your risk by approximately 30%. Yes, I wear one, but it's the law here in Canada.

I almost always wear a helmet. Lately i have been liking my half helmet. In fact I just ordered a new one.

Dad was in a nasty accident when I was a kid in the 70's and got nailed by some a-hole in a gremlin. Jacked the helmet up as he hit head first but he walked away.

They saved my bacon a few times riding motocross and ATVs.

I like to wear mine but to each his own. I definitely don't need anyone telling me whether I should wear one or not though.

Ironically Dad doesn't wear one anymore or rarely does.

Always will wear mine here in Michigan even with no helmet law now in effect. Mine saved me a few years back after getting hit and ejected off the bike hitting head first into a curb. Nice that everyone here can made their own decision.

The only time I don't wear a helmet is when pulling my bike out of the garage, and also I have been in 2 very slow moving parades (- 5mph) where I took my helmet off, but I had it with me and put it on afterwards.

Most often will wear a helmet, but it is not required in CT and I like to go without once in a while...very liberating feeling. I always wear it on the commute to work...I really don't want my epitaph to be that I died in a wreck on my way to work.

Usually wear my half helmet, but I am not really sure how useful it is in the long run....won't save my purty face. Should wear the full face more often.

To each their own, however.
