Years ago I played around with alternative bulbs for my FXR2's headlamp. Tried several brands including PIAA.....all with a higher voltage than the stock replacement bulb. Several of them worked great but tended to burn out quickly.......the last one I used totally burned out the bulb socket in my headlamp and I then found I could no longer purchase the replacement headlamp assembly from Harley. Had to do some re-wiring and went back to using the stock bulbs. Just my experience.

You will often here people say the lights blind oncoming drivers, not true, if you have them properly aimed there will not be a problem. I had HID's for 2 years before I recently went to LEDs, I absolutely loved them, BTW I went with a 6K light, slight blue but nice and bright, 8K was too blue for me, and 5K is good also, I just happened to like the slight blue color.
So this is the bulb I just got. Are you saying I have to add another power wire? From where?

Thanks!

I have a 96 RK that I bought new and I've had the H-4 extreme white headlight bulb in for just about the intire time I've had the bike. It was one of the first upgrades I did. I also have the H-3 extreme white passing light bulbs. These bulbs have a very bright white color and at night time they really make dark roads a lot more visible than the stock bulbs. Looks almost like daylight with all three lights on. You can actually see further down the road with these. I put one in my wife's bike also. We did have one H-4 bulb fail early on but the rest are still going strong. I plan on continuing to use these bulbs because they just plain work well.

I was refering to HID's not being completely plug and play, the bulb you have will fit ok.
