I've got and '84 FLHTC mostly all original, had to replace the starter.
I'm looking for the instrument pack. Actually I just need the Speedo. Everything else works fine. Please let me know if you know where I can find one or can get the Speedo repaired.
To the other guys, my bike does have a harness.
The motor is called a Shovel/EVO according to Harley.
It still runs great and mine has an oil bath for the chain also. Seems like it never need adjusting except when you change the rear tire. Original paint Green & Black.
Beautiful bike. Keep patrolling Ebay for the speedo. They show up as NOS often. The only thing on there now is a beat up used unit. Or even better call Bill's Custom Cycle
For the speedo go to one of the on-line parts websites like this one, where you can get the correct part number. That will help you seek out NOS ones. The speedo can be bought separately from the rest of the pack.
Correct. There were no EVO FLH's in 1984. Touring EVO's for 1984 were FLHTC's or FLTC's. All 1984 FLH's were Shovels with the old 4 speed frame.
umm I have an 84 FLHTC classic that's an evo and it was produced in March of 84. Shovelheads were discontinued in 84 with the exception of police bikes which had shovels though late 85. When harley ran out of shovels they put on evos. Mine was special ordered out 9f california one of 700 candy red evo 5 speed slab side tank with the big ugly dash with speedo and tach.
What is even more confussing. I think they built a 1983 FLHTC. That would have been a shovelhead with a 5 spd on the FLT Frame with a Batwing Sheild.
I owned one. Mine had the enclosed chain. Rubber mounted
shovelhead ,5 speed. Someone above said that the '83 had belt drive, I think they were availble with chain or belt.
