Like I said in my previous post, a snap ring pliers will allow you to remove and install the internal type snap ring very easily. Nothing will fly apart. All that's under it is the 3 ***** the ride in oval shaped channels. It's nothing to be concerned about. I removed the exhaust when I did it. Make sure to install new exhaust gaskets to avoid leaks.

Be sure you have the adjustment nut on the clutch cable adjusted to have the most slack possible. If you force it on the pulley it will get jammed with the ***** and you'll have to take the entire thing apart to allow those ***** to get free. It can be done though and it saves some time. Just be sure that you test the mechanism after hooking it that it all moves freely before putting it all back on the tranny.
this is the way i done a buddys clutch cable when we changed his bars.

Wow between the video and all the input I have a pretty good idea what Ive gotta do....Im going to try it without removing the clip but if it looks like the cable end could get jacked Ive got a snapring pliers already. I just changed fluid in my tranny.... I guess I shoulda waited. Taking the header back away from the bike without totally removing it is what Im trying first. Thanks for all the input...I appreciate it Tucci
