OK, I'm 6' and 220 lbs and yes I've had the same feeling of my feet being pushed off the boards.
Speeds limits are mostly 70 mph here in Texas, so any ride into a head wind feels like your doing 100.

I also couldn't put my feet on the highway pegs without my legs acting like wings, directing the wind straight up to my head.

That's when I put lowers on. It stopped both problems.

I also have to use the Fairing Wind Deflectors (little wings on the bottom outside of the faiing) or I get instant buffering with the helmet.

I would recomend a windshield that has a flip on the top edge and the height be right below your nose in riding postion.

I had the very same issue with crosswinds until I added highway pegs. Now I am happy at any speed and regardless of crosswind.

I've never experienced this at all in the 150,000 or so miles I've logged on the two Harley's I've had - this 09 RK and my '05 EGC prior. I ride in some pretty good winds sometimes in the mountains where I live. Not sure what to say about this. The EGC had a fairing like your SG but I never got that effect. Obviously if it's happening in your case I guess lowers is the answer for your situation. Or perhaps try some fork baffles? These may deflect the wind enough to stop what's happening.

Let us know what you come up with...

80 mph is a pretty strong wind blast, and without lowers I can see why you are having your feet blown off the footboards.

Congratulations on running at those speeds. There are lots of options to block the wind blast on your feet. Some use leather engine guard covers, or plastic lowers.

Dealership should be able to give you some ideas and keep you safely on the bike.
Finally someones making sense here!! The leather or canvas snap on types are nice because there cheap, and come off easy.

I can't add to any of the good advice, however Purple I would like to ask a favor. Whenever I post it takes a while to get some good responses, you post (good looking sig pic I will add) and you get bombarded with responses. The next time I have a question can I get you to ask it for me?

P.S. it's a compliment.

Ive read your post several times, and I am sorry, but I do burst out laughing at the image of your legs acting like wings....

I can see it! That's why I aint getting highway pegs! Can you imagine! I'd be like a kite...
