The wife is getting on me to clear out my 2010 wide glide and 2012 street glide stock pipes from the garage. I'm going to put them on craigslist, but i'm not sure how much to ask for them or if anyone would want them. Don't want to make a killing, just want to clear them out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
how much are they worth? if we're standing in line waiting to get our new smog inspections, priceless!!! otherwise get what you can, don't see anybody killing themselves for them, we all have a set already. The time may come that inspections will make them valuable again. I'm planning to start a busness with a charcoal canister and some Velcro straps and a set of pipes to rent by the hour, for those new federal laws coming down the pike!!!LOL!!
If the stock mufflers are in great shape and they're on their list of acceptable mufflers, this place will give you 75 dollars per pair. www.stockpipesuck.com
Just throw them in your shed,if you sell the bike put them on and use your fave aftermarket slip ons on the next bike.
as of now only Maricopa County ( Phoenix area) does tailpipe emissions testing, and it will probably be suspended as the standards are so loose over 95% compliance and the percentage of emission vs road miles of all vehicles is miniscule.
Pima County ( Tucson) has suspended tailpipe testing for bikes.
Noise emission controls are generally local regs piggybacking the Federal regs ( which are aimed at the OEM level) and locally enforced at the operator/owner.
I added mine to the scrap run. My buddy sold his for 50 bucks. Depends on how bad some one wants them. Just put best offer and sell them.to the first Guy that bites. Who really ever uses them again?
Why waste time putting the old system back on? Chances are your not buying the same bike. And you'd have to change everything back. Or sell a bike not set up right.
