Since the whole excercise (for me) was to increase torque, it was an easy choice.

Does a rider have to re-calibrate the speedo upon completion of this gearing mod?

I've got a 31T, to go with my 68T, but haven't put it on yet. Will do so this winter most likely. Somebody asked about speedo and yes, it will throw it off. Not a big deal to me. There can also be some issues with cruise control that need addressed as well. (I forget all the particulars and would have to go back research it again.) Different year models require different solutions if I remember correctly.

I don't know about the cruise issue (don't have cruise), I was able to reprogram my speedo through a tts calibration. 6th gear light works properly, too.

Your speedo will be fast, mine was 2-3 mph fast with the stock gearing, with just the 68t rear sprocket change I was about 8 mph fast. I had the SERT so had to send it to TTS to upgrade to Master Tune ($100), then the dealer can change the settings in the map. Note: you have to have the dealer run TTS program before you send it in to verify you Sert is upgradable.

Cruise control doesn't set above 85 mph so if you want to cruise 80 you need to recalibrate your speedo else you setting it at 85 your probable doing 77 mph.

I have the stock (32) and changed to a 68T rear on my 07. According to my GPS when the speedo reads 75 I'm actually going 70.

You will love it. Just gives you that little boost that you're lacking. I like mine. Hope we get a nice weekend, I'm in the cities too.

Sounds about on par with what I have observed when I have been thru those radar "Your Speed __" things on the side of the roads. I have the 32/68 set up at this time.
