Picked up my Road Glide!!
Congrats! Got mine thru ENCS also. Love the savings you get thru AAFES.
Thanks for all the compliments everyone.
It will be fun to ride it over here to since the German HD dealers have not sold the RG model in a few years and there are not too many of them.
Congrats on getting the best bike HD makes (at least in my opinion). Just stop telling people. We don't want all of "them" in on the best secret in the motorcycle world.
By the way how close are you to Hanau?
I actually started my life in Germany stationed with the 26th QMS Co (485th CSB) in Hanau and retired from there. They were on Pioneer Kaserne when I got there in 1995 and we immediatly deployed to Bosnia. When we got back from Operation Joint Endeavor we were in Hutier Kasern and I lived in Gelnhausen where I met the most beautiful German woman to ever be born, married her, and am living happily ever after. I am a GS-12 now and live in a little town called St. Leon-Rot which is about 25 KM south of Heidelberg.
I spent 3 months training in Waldorf several years ago. I got to know the backroad from Waldor to Heidleberg QUITE WELL!
I also attanded a SuperBike race weekend at Hockenheim while I was there. I've never seen so many crotch rockets in my life!!! Seems like on normal days, folks would take their personal cars / bikes out on the track.... You ever been able to do that?
They have BIG mugs (Steins) over there & LOTs of them!
Congrats on the RG & enjoy!

And the Zoom-Splats...oh my GOD! They put anywhere from 300 to 400 of them out there at a time and there is no telling what is gonna happen. They are all okay for about the first 10 or 15 laps but then they start getting tired and they are too foolish to ride into the pits. Around the 20th lap there are at least 4 or 5 in the rocks and then it take about 15 minutes for a truck and trailer to go around the track picking up the wrecked bikes.
I saw one knucklehead out there on an old FX something or other (could have even been a knucklehead motor in it!
) on the track with the zoom-splats, with forward controls even!....he putted around for two laps and then had the good sense to pull into the pits. Now I just go and watch but have thought of taking the Sporty out there since it now has Chainsikle rear sets and a Daytona steering damper.

They are starting up for the winter public driving/riding this Sunday and every Sunday until Spring. Driving/Riding there in the Winter is much nicer. Cars and bikes share the track and there is not much traffic.
