Default Have you ever replaced these screws?

The manual said that all the screws that are removed from the front brake disks should be replaced. But I am wondering anyone has reused these screws, and if you did, what did you do in addition, to secure these screws?
Thanks much for any info.

I have reused them, after spending a considerable amount of time removing the factory applied thread locking compound from the threads. I only did it because the dealer was closed and I needed them "now". It is best to replace them though, not just as a time saving thing (took over an hour to clean them)but also as a way to ensure the correct torque can be achieved when tightening. If you do reuse them make sure the threads are clean and in good condition (I used a tap & die) and be sure to use blue locktite or similar threadlocking compound when retorquing tp spec.

Thanks for the info.
Not that money is the issues here, but the screw is made from the harder metal, comparing to the aluminum hub, so I don't see how the thread can be damaged or degraded to the point to loose the torque spec.
Anyone has reused these screws and ridden your bike to for while, please give me your experience.
Thanks!

I reuse them all the time. I have a bad habit of swapping my wheels back and forth. I use the stock rotor on the rear of the setup you see below. When I swap back to the factory wheels for touring 1000+ mile trips use the factory rotor on the factory wheel with some blue thread compound. Been doing this for thousands of miles. Never had a problem of any coming loose.

I've reused the screws before on my shovelheads, then I snapped one off while torquing it down. Not worth the trouble for the cost of the screws. As far as riding for a length of time, yes, did that too, with no issues, but I'm much more safety concerned in my old age, if they say they should be replaced, I now replace them. The minor cost and effort to go get them is worth way more than the alternatives may bring. Your choice, we'll be watching to see if your future post is, "Harley maintenance recommendation is BS" or "Oh $hit, I should have listened to the manual".

Not sure which screws you talking about, but the manual is full of replacing screws and bolts and what have you.... so that's not surprising.

Thanks guys!
This is the first time that I remove these screws for tire changing, so I will reuse them.
I probably change them next time, even though there is no sense to me, in terms mechanical point.

The screws that bolt the front brake disks to the rotor.
