131 Tman, you obviously have no idea what is wrong with the bike , so if you can't comment on anything positive, why don't you keep your comments to yourself?

Yes and no loss of oil pressure. He's taken it all back apart and there is no damage to anything. It all looks good. Now going back to the original nick in the camshaft and broken gear on the oil pump....there is a little nick out of the brass ring on the cam plate. Could that be causing an issue? He's got a new ring to replace it but has to figure out how to do that.

Got it home after a long ordeal which included pushing a 800lb bike for 2 miles. One of the push rods was lose. So he readjusted them and tried again. Same thing but this time it's a different pushrod. Then same thing agian. The first failures were on the the rear intake..one failure on the front intake, last fail was on rear intake and exhaust. He says he thinks the lifters are not staying charged with oil? And ideas?
I've had pushrods loosen up and it's not fun. ( I still carry the 3 necessary wrenches if it ever happens again.)

When it happened, did anyone look at the oil pressure as it died? If that stayed strong, then the pushrods aren't tightened properly. If there was no pressure when it started acting up, well you know what that means...

If you have pressure he may just need to pay attention to the pushrod problem and not dig into the cam chest quite yet.

EDIT: If the lifters don't stay charged with oil, the pushrods locknuts will still be tight. If the locknuts were loose, then that ( pushrods) are your problem.

Good Luck!

Sometimes the learning process involves breaking a few things.

The guys who never break anything are the guys who are sitting at home on their couch, afraid to try something new.
