pc3 vs pcv
Yes.
Yes.
There are some instruction manuals from DynoJet, but they often don't get into details on some features. There are also some that are more feature-specific on the forums.
The O2 sensors will be disconnected. Earlier models like my '07 need O2-sensor eliminators to avoid activating the engine light, but newer models don't need them. Bikes with 18mm bungs on the exhaust can upgrade to Auto-Tune which uses wideband O2 sensors.
...and if you tell FM what you've got for mod's they already set up a map for it right?
Prob can ask FM but is there a tutorial on the PCV?
Where's the O2 sensors once it's plugged in, do they do away?
Misinformation like this is perpetrated by some dealers because they want you to buy their HD-branded tuner, on which they make a bigger profit, but if they tell you something like this ask for evidence to support their claims.

+1 on V being more configurable, also has a couple options if you want the touch screen gizmos and what not later. I have had both the III and the V. Currently have the V and like it better. As others have said, its smaller too!

Jamie and Keith at Fuel Moto are great and will take good care of you. Ive used them for tuners since 2004. Used a FM Tuner (generic PCIII) on my 04 RKC and 05 Fatboy (it now has 40,000+ miles and 7 yrs with the Tuner) and now a Power Vision on my 11 Road Glide. Jamie has updated MAPs for me at least 6 times as I changed cams etc on the softail and dialed in my PV MAP using data Logging.
Keep the PC-V configuration that F/M sends you.
You're really trying to read way more into this than is necessary.
If you find that down the road you're not happy with the map then get it dyno-ed by someone who dyno's with the PC-V.
That's it, nothin' more, nothin' less.

I had the PCV on my Softail and now run the Power Vision. I would consider saving my pennies a little longer and holding out for the Power Vision. It loads maps without the use of the laptop and basically is the laptop portion, but the real benefit comes from its ability to read everything from the ECU - it can read and display your RMP, fuel mileage, temp, knock timing (per cylinder), and much more (about 40 or 50 different readings).
I only suggest this route if you were ever interested in gauges to monitor your bike, then this makes for a much more affordable approach. If you are only going to load a map and then forget about it, stick with the PCV - but for the $200 difference, you can have all the gauge functionality, and be able to change maps on the fly.

Ive had great luck running the FM MAPs that Jamie sets up. Never dynoed my 05 Fatboy from Stage 1 to a 95" Stage 2 with 204 cams, now my Road Glide is runng great with jamies MAP as well.
