I have a 2003 ultra classic that has lowering shocks on it. Me and the wife went on a 300 mile trip saturday and half way thru it the rear shocks bottomed out and would not rebound like the springs broke.
When we stopped and got off the bike it rebounded very slow until it was back up. Is there a way to fix this? Ive tried different air pressure from 0 to 30 nothing helps. All suggestions appreciated.
Welcome to HDF. You will find that shocks are a regular subject here, so familiarise yourself with the 'search facility and take a look through recent threads. Your stock shocks are not worth any more than scrap, so replacements are in your near future, as Bill points out.
You can buy recent take-offs, which can be found on Ebay, or buy a set of new shocks. If you do buy new, take a little time to learn the market, as you have the opportunity to dramatically improve your ride.
thanks for the info i found some take offs from a 09 on ebay
Well done! They will bolt straight on, but use higher air pressures than your 03 shocks, up to 50psi. So you may have to experiment a little to tune them in.

The newer shocks are improved over the pre 2009 versions so you should benefit. As already stated the MAX Air Pressure on the newer shocks is increased to 50psi.
When you install the new shocks be sure to check that nothing is bent, binding or not properly aligned because with the way you described what happened to the old shocks they may have binding problems or have been bent. If there is something that is causing them to bend you dont want that to happen to the new ones.
