I have an 07 Road King and rode it 1130 miles over Memorial weekend no problems. Got in some hot traffic and then got fuel. Let it sit about 20 minutes then rode for about 50 miles. Died twice while riding at about 40 MPH able to restart on go. Then the check engine light came on and the speedo did not work. Rode another 50 and now light is out and speedo works. Any ideas?

 

That happened to me! When it died my speedo and tach arms went from all the way to the left and then right and back to left (0). I coasted to a stop with clutch pulled in, once stopped bike fired right up. I have no idea what happened.

 

Interesting...I was having the high idle issue at stops and was taking it back to our shop. I was cruzing at 65 mph and all of a sudden the tach dies and speedo. The check engine light, theft light and battery light all came on. Bike ran ok, but when I stopped I killed the engine after restart they went to normal.

Might dive into it tomorrow

 

i had a similar issue. i had no speedo or acc. and the bike stalled when i stopped. dug into it when i got home and it ended up being an accessory fuse. hope this helps.
