You guys are right, it's not tough to see on my phone at all. Now is it a leak at the f****** clutch cable or not?
Thats my guess, if the Oring gets damaged or its not snug in the housing fluid will leak from there. Or if it got torqued too tight which is common. Many people trust where they take it for services ( I know right) and he may have paid for a service 2500 miles ago only those with some mechanical ability can see hes may be getting screwed. In my opinion Harleys are not a bike that should be owned by someone without any basic mechanical abilities. You need to be able to look, listen and be aware of areas of the bike where the designs is basic but functional and he may not be one of em....I would like more details from dawg and how he came across this bike.
It's not my bike. It appears to be a faulty/leaking cable. I haven't taken it apart to confirm, as I was only told to do those few things. The owner will be advised of the problem though.
Seeing how dirty the rest of the engine is,looks likes he just rides it and nothing else!
Lol! Rides it and probably ignores all the signs of a catastrophic failure about to happen. He would have an excuse if that was in a spot that's hard to see but holy crap how do you have something like that escape your line of vision?
"point it out"? i would think "strongly suggest" that it needs fixing before something bad happens would be more appropriate. hey, the guy can afford $400 tires and $100 oil changes at a dealers...probably just needs someone to spend a little time with him and explain the importance of regular maintenance. hope the dealer at least gives him a nice wash job!
The sad fact is that many (if not most) of today's Harley owners/riders have no clue about anything mechanical. These bikes are toys, status symbols or keep up with the Jones's type thing. A good friend of mine is exactly the same way when it comes to the bike, he knows nothing about it unless something is running on the floor then he calls me. Bend down and look under any Harley sitting in a parking lot somewhere and many will have grease, oil and filth everywhere, even if the top is polished to gleaming.

I would be happy for you to look under mine, then i would finally have a reason for all the cleaning of the underside lol. my girl thinks im crazy for it
