If you already have the BAL-1, but haven't added the HD LEDs yet, the pigtail won't be on your stock light. It's part of the HD LED install. You will just add it to the BAL-1 connector when installing the HD LED lights.
I had the HD LED lights installed by the dealer before I added the BAL-1.
I also have the BALJ-1. Is it possible to run the rear amber HD LEDs instead of the red? I prefer the amber lights because they are very noticeable when the turn signals are applied. I won't be using the rear ambers as running lights.
Thanks and ride safe,
Bob.
If you're gonna do that, I would run the custom dynamics LEDs. They replace the bulb and an equalizer is attached under the seat. Super easy swap...
I went with the HD LEDs because I got a deal on parts & labor from my dealer. I absolutely didn't like all the chrome all over the Harley LED tail light, so I got a BAL-1 and installed it myself.
The rear Harley LEDs have a built in run/stop/brake feature. The rears come with red lenses for that reason. I don't know if you could put a pair of the yellow front LEDs on the rear.
