I just bought a 2007 RK. After riding 1000k the exhaust pipes are turning blue. The heat shield is covering them up so it is not so noticable but I am still wonderingif the blueing is normal. I am taking the bike to the dealer for the 1000k service but I would like some input from all of you out there if anyone is having the same problem.
I just looked at the pipes and they started turning blue.
It's (unfortunately) perfectly normal, especially for a stock bike, since they come out of the factory pretty lean. Very few pipes don't blue for that matter. Even those that don't appear to (like V&H, Hard Khrome, etc), are actually double walled, so the internal walls typically blue, but the heat is dissipated enough so it doesn't affect the outer wall.
