I have had one of his crotch coolers a couple years and really like it. Hard to install? WTF over? Pull off seat, lay the CC in place and put seat back on. I take mine off and put it back on every time I clean the bike.

Extend your floor boards out for more than just a cooler ride, better foot and seating position are additional benifits..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/FLOORBOARD-E...e4aa88&vxp=mtr

The only time I get really hot on the bike is when stopped at a light or traffic jam. I seriously doubt the deflectors are causing that. I did, however, remove the fork baffle (the one attached to the lower triple-tree) to allow the air to flow better over the motor when moving.

No, my deflectors stay on the bike all the time. Rode it to San Angelo Texas a month after I got it, with the deflectors in place, and in 110+ degree heat. No problems noticed at all. The bike got the chance to cool off every time I stopped for a break.

HELP ME FIGURE THIS OUT. Never saw anyone post about this problem when I decided to put them on the bike. Oh, and yes, I have tried going faster, it did not help.
Trim them to 1/2 length. The air coming up under the fairing is what causes the buffeting. The deflectors stick way farther down than they need to. If you trim them up 1/2 way then air will still pass by the heads.

At least that's how it looked on my bike...

Have had the Harley Wind Deflectors on my Fatboy and now the Road King. They work great and I have not noticed any difference in engine heat. I think what you are feeling is heat you would have felt with or without the deflectors.

There have been several threads about this issue lately with summer coming on strong. I have been using HD deflectors on my 06 RKC for several years and always take them off when temps get above 80 degrees or so, but a few weeks ago, I left them on after installing my new LRS shield and if you see that thread, I burned up. The change in windhield did push more air above my head to the point that there was NO air stirring between me and the shield. This was not a bad thing except for the fact that the deflectors also pushed more air out wider away from my legs (like they are supposed to do) and so with the higher air flow over my head, a lot of the air across the engine came up my legs and arms. The deflectors are now off and the air around the engine goes where it should and not up and around me. so the combo of deflectors and LRS is bad in the summer but should be great in cooler weather. Just my thoughts....

Put a set of fork deflectors on for and Upper Peninsula trip over the 4th, liked the reduction in buffeting, felt the increase in right thigh heat even early in the mornings that we rode with light jackets.
