Default Found In My Primary Case (?)

Was changing primary fluid yesterday, saw some bigger than normal metal pieces on the magnetic plug.

Went to adjust primary chain tensioner and when I loosened it, it dropped to the bottom. Which was good.

Just to the left of the tensioner, there is a nut and bolt. Wedged betwen that and the tensioner was this beauty of a piece of metal.

Me thinks maybe a bearing race? Any ideas?

Bike runs fine, shifts fine. It has in the past kicked back on starting a couple times, but I chalked that up to the gear drive.

2005 Road King. 36K on the clock. I run Formula+ since day 1.

First issue ever with the bike.

Yeah, I'm dropping it to my Indy this Saturday.

Buttoned it up and rode to work today. Only three miles one way.

Seems fine, but needs attention.
