Thinking of getting the K&N HD-0818 filter for the SE 29260-08 Stage 1 kit. I see on the K&N site that it gives a very low CFM of 159.8. Does anyone who's fitted one to a late model bagger have any comments on it's affect on the bike especially with exhaust and fueling mods?
I have another K&N on mine since which is still stock and runs fine. Biggest issue is cost. The K&N costs more from the start but after changing three regular filters I will be on the plus side of the curve.
I installed that filter last night, it made the bike slightly more responsive. I can hear the intake with the K&N but could not with the filter that came in the a/c kit.
It was worth it to me.
I had it on my 08 and now my 12. I run it as an open element and you can hear it suck air when getting on the throttle. Been very happy with both. Got the last one off amazon for $40 shipped.
I replaced the SE filter on my '10 Ultra with the K&N, no issues thus far and I'm running Dresser duals with Monster Ovals, PCV and a custom AC cover. I did get the K&N rain cover just because it's open now.
