Default Opinion...saddlebag extensions.

Gentlemen,

I have a 2008 white gold pearl Street Glide for which I have a set of saddlebags with minor road rash on the bottom. I have a new set on the bike and the old ones are collecting dust in my shop.

I was thinking about adding extensions to the old bags thus giving me two sets of bags, (extended and stock).

My question...would you get the HD extensions and paint them or get chrome Cyclesmiths? Obviously the paint would be hard to match and cost additional. How do you think the chrome extensions would look on a white bike. Cost difference is about $100.00 without painting.

Because I have a set of bags not being used I am not considering a new set of stretched bags. Yes they are very nice but I am not willing to spend that much at this time.

Anyone have pics of the chrome on a white bike?

Thanks in advance.

I'm more of a matching paint type of guy, but if that's over your budget, why not just try the chrome/white? I doubt it will look bad - like you, I just have nothing to compare it to.

Tough question, really.
There are guys that have done the cyclesmith's and if it's the look you're after, then that is probably the way to go, seriously, as opppsed to the stretched bags.
Some of them(the stretched bags() look a little on ridiculous side of things.
I've thought of going with the black and chrome thing,(cyclesmiths) but opted not to for the time being.
Traveler did them and they look good really, but they were painted..
A couple other guys have too, and some think that they look "cheesy" but fok them, it ain't their ride..
Good luck.. w/your decision..

Please get the Cycle Smiths !! I had a Buddy in Vegas that put them on a Black Street Glide. I loved them, but would like to see them on a White bike before dropping that much cash.

Who has the best price on them ??
