If this is the only mod, and after you install the 4" rineharts do you have to do a recal on the fuel map? I've read somewhere that 3.5" slip-ons cause heat problems on the 103 and 110 motor, but the 4" run just fine.

I don't know if "I have to do a retune", but I am going to because these pipes are way less restictive than my stock Screamin' Eagle mufflers were....and I want to keep that A/F ratio right. I have enough power, I'm not worried about power numbers.
On my last bike when I just changed my head pipes they did a retune on the dyno pretty cheap for me.
Well maybe not "cheap" but maybe I should have said "reasonable".
TFB, next time you're in the mood to try something else, try a set of the CFR's on. As far as sound goes, I think they are hard to beat. I've been told the kuryakyn crushers sound similar to the CFR's.
I seem to be a “Muffler Snob”. I’ve had several types and brands over the past few years and I thank the HDForums Classifieds for allowing me to sell the old ones, so I can upgrade from time to time.
I’ve had RUSH (2¼” & 1¾”), Vance & Hines (Big Radius, Twin Slash, Monster Ovals & Monster Rounds) they all sounded nice.
Now I have never been a big fan of the 3 ½” Rineharts. They were just a little raspy high sounding to me and usually too loud.
But I must say I think I am in love once again. I put on the 4” Rineharts.
I will also add that I do have “True Duel Headers” for form, fit and function.
However I have never been a big fan of the sound from the True Duels, but I am now.
yeah,ok,but where is the sound clip for the rest of as....
I think the 4" Rineharts are perfect for a touring bike.
I have the SE255 cams with Dressrer Duals and the Twin Slash Rounds that I had before were loud and had a tone that wore on me after a couple hours of riding. They were great until I installed the cams.
I sold the Twin Slashes and got the 4" Rineharts, one of the more pleasing mods I have done to the bike.
The Rineharts are plenty loud but have a deep tone that is not so harsh on my ears. They also mellow out more at cruise than the Twin Slash Rounds, making them very radio friendly.
I recently traded my 08 RG for 2012 RGU. Before delivery I added 254e cams, SE race tuner, se intake and TD Rinehart headers and exhaust. Sounds great and runs nice and cool.
