I have the red/black Craftsmand jack and it won't slide out from under the bike on the jiffy stand. I'm assuming your jack was inserted from the right side and that she has let fully released the jack.

All I do is stand on the right side, pull the bike up a little with the right handlebar and the jack slides right out. Don't have to pull it all the way off the jiffy stand, just pull enough so the jack will slide. If she loses her grip, it'll go right back onto the jiffy stand.

Also recommend that she go to Sears with the receipt and explain her situation to the Tools Manager or the Store Manager before your warranty is up. They should take her name and honor the warranty when you're able to take it in. if not, post it here and we can all start shopping elsewhere for tools!

Hey if Sears wont HONOR the warranty...Buy another Yellow Jack and return the defective one.

I have the same jack. Sometimes I forget that you have to manually disengage the lock mechanism to let the jack go down. I have had good luck with mine in the 5 or 6 years I have owned it.

I have the red craftsman jack and it's possible when you engage the lock to only catch it on one side. I bent mine around a little to make them both engage evenly. I still check it carefully when letting it down on the locks. Not sure, by your description, if that might be your problem. I'd say she needs some help from someone familiar with these jacks.

Where in Alabama is it? If you're near Huntsville I could go over and get it off the jack.

I appreciate the offer, but I actually moved up around Atlanta before I deployed. The locks on the yellow jack are automatic. I thought I released the pressure but I guess not. She said there is something broken on the lock. I will have her go by Sears and talk to them, thanks guys...

the clip that holds the locks is cheesy at best.

+1, that was my idea too. Try and lift it with another jack of some sort enough to get the other one out. good luck!
