Has anyone mounted the GPS mount that mounts to the center of the fairing (looks like it is held on by the center windshield screw)? It looks like it's exactly what I'm looking for but want to see if anybody has any experience with it. Want to know about quality, fit, vibration, etc. Thanks
I made my own from a galvonized bracket from Home Depot. I bent the tab down and drilled a hole for the center windshield mount. I screwed the bracket to one of those vent mounted GPS holders from my car. I used 3M double stick tape to keep it securred to the top of the inner fairing. I hard wired it inside the fairing. It works fine except at idle it vibtrates too much to read. As soon as I raise the RPMs from idle it smooths right out.
Pros: I like the center mount for easy readability.
Hard wired so no need to worry about charging.
Minimal cost, power cable $15.00 on ebay plus items I had on hand.
Easy removal for storage in tour pak.
Cons: Vibration at idle.
No windshield bag (not an issue fior me).
