I am definately talking about to different issues. The rocks in the can is in all gears. The clatter when hot and the bike is in nuetral is a seperate issue. I will try to find the production date.

You've had this bike for what, 16 days?! take it back to the dealer and get your money back, and quick, before you put any more miles on it and lose more depreciation.

Otherwise, if you don't want to give it back;

It is a H-A-R-L-E-Y - D-A-V-I-D-S-O-N, not a damn Rolls Royce!!!!, harleys make noise, they shake, they rattle, they spit, they cough, they puke and they leak, ask a Shovelhead owner, I had one for 12 years, '81 FLHS, I really miss that bike now.......

People are spoiled by these new twincam bikes, I know that I am, just ride the **** out of it and don't worry about the noises until it's broken in, (about 12-15k miles) and then, don't worry about the noises.
When you hear a very loud metallic "CLANK" and it quits running, then something's probably wrong.

phins, If you don'tlike the noise TAKE IT BACK NOW....otherwise get used to it cause at present HD has no fix. at least not that they are telling us.
if you're gonna keep it. i use amsoil 20/50 in primary and crank and amsoil70/90 svg gear lube in tranny and it helps a little. THEN ride the livin **** outn of the bike before the warranty is up to be sure it is going to stay together.....

I am going to change the fluids today. I thank God I purchased the 7 year extended warranty, because I bought the SOB to ride the sh*t out of it.

I got the warranty extension as well which is why i am riding the **** out of mine noises or not. I wou;d advise going to amsoil svg gear lube in tranny and ride. Just don't spend any more bucks on bike/ HD needs to get a grip and as you will see in these posts some do and some don't have noise and issues....

good luck and

Well its 76 degrees here I just went for a nice 50 mile cruise. I do love my ride! Had to stop in to get some grub and I'm heading for my favoriteroad trip to the Indian River in Titusville. A great day for a ride!
