1-19 km/h The amount of km over times $2.50 = fine
20-29 km/h The amount of km over times $3.75 = fine
30-49 km/h The amount of km over times $6.00 = fine
50 km/h+ (speeding) The amount over times $9.75 times $1.25 = fine
50+km/hr (Stunt Driving / Racing) fine amount can range from $2,000 - $10,000

0 – 15 km/hr over = 0 points (minor infraction)
16 – 29km/hr over = 3 points (minor infraction)
30 – 49 km/hr over = 4 points (major infraction)
50+ km/hr over = 6 points + 30 day license
50+km/hr over (Stunt Driving/Speed Racing) = 6 points + immediate 7 day licence suspension and car impoundment + up to 2 year additional licence suspension upon conviction.

Not sure about the car crushing, have never heard about that in Ontario.

cheers

Just got back from my trip up North, crossed at I-81 into Canada, and no problems, no line and 2 minutes at the booth with a very professional Canadian Officer. Couple of queations and Have a nice day. This was 9PM at night when we crossed. But it seemed every truck in Canada was on the 401 that evening. Glad we were only going to Kingston that night, Jul 3.

Crossing back into the US on July 8th took much longer. Crossed back on the Peace bridge at Buffalo. Traffic line started on the Canadian end of the bridge. Took us about an hour to get to the booth. Still once we were there only took about 5 minutes, a few questions, then he was talking to another ICE agent walking across and then we were welcomed back and sent on our way. This was at 11AM on Saturday the 8th. Had our passports ready both times, glasses off, bike shut down before being asked. Yes sir, no sir and on our way. Other than the traffic coming back no problems. Your mileage may vary.

I've found that it definitely helps if you follow the "shut off bike, helmet and glasses off" procedure without being asked by the border agent. YMMV of course.

I'm thinking about the Lake Michigan Ironbutt ride. I've never put wheels in Canada. So, I'm thinking about crossing the border at Sault Ste Marie to get a gas receipt and then crossing back into the U.S. I know I may have to wait att eh border, the current time shows 30 min. on one website. Does anyone know if I'll have an issue crossing back simply because I only crossed for the gas receipt?

Huh? There is no law about showing colours if you're in a 1% club. If you chose to do so though, you should expect to attract extra attention by border guards and by police- no different than in the US.

Some of the posts on this thread sound like they are straight out of an episode of "Talking to Americans", lol.

Fellow Cdns will get that, others will with a google search.

Mercer is hilarious! I've got friends from the Great White North (Even though I'm north of Canada in the continental US (look that one up) who turned me on to him...

The Hells Angles, Banditos, and most other US 1%er motorcycle gangs are legally identified in the Canadian criminal court system as recognized criminal organizations. This is a legacy of the biker war of the 90's. There is no law against wearing colors but if you identify with a legally recognized criminal association, by say wearing their patches or colors, it will significantly diminish your individual legal rights in Canada. For instance if you are a member or associate of a recognized criminal gang (which you are saying you are by wearing their patches or colors) like the Hells Angels it is enough for the police to choose to investigate you further and even take you into custody for further questioning if they so choose. You don't need to be a suspect in a crime, it is enough to say this person is a member or associate of a recognized criminal organization and is most likely involved in criminal activity or has knowledge of criminal activity. They can hold you for up to 72 hours without charging you. If you are legally convicted of a crime the fact you identify with a criminal organization will be taken into account in the sentencing, etc. I would suspect the border guards would not allow anyone into the country wearing 1%er colors or support patches.
