I have ridden 16 from Worland to Sturgis and back, last year. The road was in good shape except for some construction just outside of Worland, I'm just that's all done. The ride through the canyon outside of Ten Sleep is absolutely spectacular, couple of nice twisties in there too. You start your ascent of the Big Horns around Meadowlark Lake with gradual inclines up the range. We got pretty cold near the summit coming back from Sturgis on that route, but we're Texans, if that tells ya anything. I would highly recommend the ride. Relaxing, interesting and it's the kind of road we all seek out.

Personally, I'd say 14. Take it all the way to Cody and then into Yellowstone

rode on hwy 16 last saturday from worland to buffalo. it was a very nice ride with some awesome views. there is about 5 miles on construction between worland and tensleep where it is dirt and gravel and then after from tensleep to buffalo there is about 6miles of construction were its just dirt and gravel due to them surfacing the roads.

All good suggestions. I lived in Thermopolis for about 8 years. I think my favorite route would be 14A heading west and 16 going east. And make sure you do the Chief Joseph and Beartooth. Another road I always enjoyed is from Jackson to Dubois over Togwotee pass (pronounced toga tee). Make sure you carry extra sim cards for your digital camera.
