Got my power duals will be installing this weekend..do I need a lift or can I work with the bike on the it's side stand???? Working on 2012 street glide. Thanks holla back!!!!!
i did it with no lift.. just need to bend over a little more... take ure time.. not that difficult... make sure u set heat shield clamps in correct postion prior installing exhaust.
you will like the sound.. oh BTW.. the hose clamp for the crossover heat shield supplied was to small on mine.. had to get a larger one... was about 1/2" to short..
Been thinking about the same setup. Did you have slipons on there already or just stock? Interested in the difference the head pipes will make with my current VH twin slash...they're just not quite offensive enough and the heat loss will be nice too.
Please let us know how the install goes for those of us who don't/can't wrench.
Where are you getting yours? Good price? Cheapest I've found was fuel moto...
Louderisbetter- I am running the same slip ons you are. I was running them on my stock head pipe until recent. I installed V&H True Duels and it now sounds amazing!!

Had my V&H ovals slip ons with stock exhaust several weeks before I installed the power duals..power duals made exhaust sound deeper tone than stock .
Bike runs great with them..I thought airflow would be even out of the slipons though..very little difference between both sides...
It's easier to do when the bike is on the sidestand
Although having the bike a little higher and still on the sidestand would have been even better. You'll just want the bike upright when you put the left side pipe back on. (just makes it easier)
One thing more. The clamp for the cross-over chrome cover is just a bit short and is quite difficult to put on. Try finding a slightly longer clamp before you start. Will make that last part much easier.

Ditto, it's not difficult and no jack is needed, just take your time and get those heat shield clamps oriented properly so you can get to them once it's all put together. ALSO: Don't tighten up the chrome heat shields until all of them are properly in place, especially that X-over one in the middle. You have to do some wiggling to get them all just right, THEN you tighten them all up. Otherwise you won't be able to get that X piece into place if the others are tightened too soon.
I love my PowerDuals, they're awesome and they also give a nice improvement to the sound just getting rid of the CAT.

Thanks davidsdad and papifun also...i think next paycheck might be buying time.
To those who installed on their own...how long did it take you?

I did mine while on the side stand with no lift and it took me about 7 hours from start to finish. That is starting with a stock bike and removing saddle bags, stock exhaust, headpipes, etc. and then installing everything in reverse. Make sure you pull out the exhaust head gaskets. It will look as if there is nothing there... but they are!
Sound quality, loss of heat and countless other reasons to hurry up and get them! I have them paired up with some 4" Rinehart's.
