Thanks for the link, I checked out the site. Very nice looking windshields and you can use rain x. What is the best hight To be able to lookover or
through the shield?

Any comments?

RE: Shorty windshield
I have a 5" windshield I purchased on Ebay about a month after I bought my bike (2 years now almost). Never had any problems with the shorter height, neither did my wife (I'm 5'10"). I decided to put the stock one back on for a PGR mission when the weather had cooled down, and didn't like the feel one bit after getting used to the short one. The stock one just hit the top of my head, which actually gave me headaches. The 5" doesnt' really deflect much per se, but I don't mind that; it makes it feel like I'm back on my Lowrider a little bit (the wind in the face part.)

I have the Clearview 8" recurve and love it. I had an 4" eBay special and got rid of it. Give CV a call and talk over what you are looking for. I talked with them for about 10 minutes describing my height and what I was looking for. Great people.

RE: Shorty windshield
I have a 5" I bought from HD (smoke). Put in on last week end temp was around 40 deg. It did pull more wind across my face and upper chest, but
it was'nt to bad no headaches. I like the fill of the wind.

Thanks Paul

I'm 5' 10". I put a 10" smoke on my ultra. I can see over it and no wind headache. Really takes out the Old Geezer look. I picked it up from Custom FHLT. Nice people to work with. They are at

RE: Shorty windshield
hey Hiram....my stock windshield on the SG was 4"...I thought that one was too low....got a moco 6" and loved it....it looked great and the wind blast hit my hairline ..i never had a buffeting problem or a headache...recently i got a clearview 8" with recurve...i'm in love...its just barely taller than the 6", the recurve directs wind over my head and the top edge of the windshield is still way below my line of sight...plus itlooks very sporty...i'm quite sure i'll be using this windscreen for many miles

I have been considering leaning out my Ultra, QD tour pak, Shorty windshield etc. My concern is that I have heard from others that the short windshield causes buffeting at head height and gives you a serious headache. Anybody else have this problem?
The Ultra is in a class of it's own...
Your ultra is beautiful, leave it be.. Buy a SG later.... IMHO..
