Default rear brakes sticking

I am having issues with my rear brakes. First it seams the pedal is sticking and therefor holding pressure on the read caliper when I step off the pedal. I asked a tech at local dealer about it and he said it was the pedal/master cyl, whereas I was thinking it was the caliper sticking. He said it was an easy fix. I was thinking about turning it in for warrenty work but @ $50 deposit It may be better to figure it out myself and buy a manual with the $$ I save. Any ideas on what is wrong?

Also, it seems like I really have to press on the pedal hard for the brakes to be effective

What year and model? Assuming an 11 or 12 if under warranty.
What is sticking?

How are the pads? Are the caliper pistons over-extended?

The pads appear good. Looks like plenty of life left in them

the pedal is hanging up at the pivot point. remove the pedal and clean up the bushing and I use anti seize for lube and you should be fine
