Got 250 miles on the new ultra limited this week and have already noticed that when I'm laid back on the drivers backrest that it would be nice if the bars were a little closer to me. Seen the 2 inch pullback bars offered, done a search and have read plenty on those who have done this. But, my main question is.. Do the bars actually come back 2 more inches or are the ends just bent back more ? I would like to keep my same hand position.
I'm interested in this also, I asked the dealer and got conflicting answers on whether or not I might need extensions for cables and for heated grips, Parts say no and service says yes, but to ask parts to be sure....????go figure!

Reason: typo
I've read the conflicting posts on this subject and can only report my personal experience.
I have a '12 FLHTK. I had my dealer install the HD Pullback bars #56176-08 @ $149.95 list.
They charged me for 2 hours labor, and routed the wires inside the bars. I did not need any clutch or brake cable changes, but they did charge me for the HD twist grip sensor kit #32310-08 @ $99.95 list and both a stamped & formed pin and a stamped & formed pin socket @ $1.00 each.
These bars WILL change your grip angle. I have had one person say that the grip angle is responsible for the entire 2" of pullback. I don't know if that is true or not. Although it did change the grip angle, I find it comfortable. I am 2000 miles into a cross country trip and I am glad I made the change......
+2 Sweepers and a clutch cable, do it yourself, save a bunch!
Just bought the bars from Power Junkies for 68.00 shipped...clutch cable was cheap at dealer....just saying....
Before you start spending money, have you tried adjusting your existing bars? Most Harleys I have ridden in the last 30-odd years have them adjusted wrong for my liking, and I have adjusted them for every one I have owned. You may be surprised how much a slight movement in the clamps can improve the riding position. And for free!
Looked at possible adjustment but they are very close to tank now when turned. The only adjustment would be to lower or raise which would not solve my issue. Just would like to bring'em a couple inches closer and keep same hand position.
