Default Radio Problems!

Hope someone can help me here.
My radio sound would all of a sudden shut off and would not come back on. I thought perhaps a loose connection so I removerd the faring and found nothing loose. Yesterday morning I started the bike to go to work and the radio worked. About a mile down the road the radio sound shut off again.
This morning I started the bike and the radio worked then the sound shut off abfter about 5 minutes. I reached the speaker toggle switch and switched it to a different setting and the radoi came back on. After about another 5 minutes it shut off, again I toggled the switch and it came back on.
I think it may be the toggle switch but can't figure out why it comes on and then off. It's almost like there is something in the switch that heats up after a couple minutes and shuts off.
Anybody experience this problem? Think it's the switch going bad?
Any help would be appericated.
Thanks

Check out HK radio problems on Google and you will have to send your radio to Iron Cross Audio for repair, circuit board needs replaced. Again check out Iron Cross Audio and there web site has the info.

I was having similar problems with my radio, whether on radio or aux. turned out my fat fingers had somehow activated the cb and anytime the system thought it detected cb coming in it would mute the stereo for a few seconds. Depending on where the squelch is set I can see the system detecting cb all the time, thereby muting the system all the time. Verify that your cb is OFF.

I do have another problem though, pretty much fixed at the moment. Radio would not play from the left front speaker. I opened up the fairing and bent the tab up, the tab that the pos and neg inputs fom the stereo connect to that speaker. Better now, true stereo. Not good stereo but at least it plays from all four speakers.

I recently noticed the same problem with my radio which was installed new by the HD Dealership. While riding, the sound would all of a sudden stop, but the radio remained on. I shut the radio off and on again and seemed to correct the problem. This happened a couple of times. I also think i accidently hit the mute button while riding.

Try to do a quick diagnostic: With bike off, push in two soft buttons on radio (channel buttons 1-6), then turn on ignition. Radio will turn on after HD shield/bar logo appears, radio will run a diagnostic check then let go of buttons. If the check detects any problems with the radio it should display a code. I saw this on a prior thread a week or so ago. I hope I explained it correctly. If not, search this forum and you'll find it. May be helpful. Good Luck!

I had same problem on my SG. Of course it happens like a wk after i did the RF amp and 6.5 upgrade so of course I thought it was the amp or a bad wire. Chased it for a few days. Ther realized it had to deck. Went to pull deck out 3 of the 4 allen bolts were finger tight then when I got it out it had indention marks in bottom of the deck where the allen bolts for the risers were rubbing. I sent It to Iron Cross Audio. I have viberation damage. There is a service bullitein for Harley Tourng bikes 2007-2011 for those riser bolts. The replacement is a low profile head torx. The stock allen sticks above the riser plate toucjing the bottom of deck. The new ones do not.
