Default What to do, what to do?

I have my grandfathers 90th b-day this weekend and its about 200 miles away from me.

I really want to ride the bike over there, the wife says she would feel better if I took the truck (she has to work so I'll be solo)

My only issue is, I have never ridden that far, go ahead call me a poser,,,,, I would spend the night and come home sunday afternoon but there is a small thunderstorm chance sunday. highs in the 90's so its going to be a hot ride. And I am guessing the traffic will be heavy (about 3/4 of the way will be interstate)

What to do? This would be my first long trip and I am looking for someone to talk me into it!!

200 miles is easy, think of it as time on the bike and not distance. You have ridden your bike for entire day tootin around, this trip is only about 3.5 hours. Easy peasy. The thunderstorms on the other hand, what is the % chance of rain?

The AVERAGE day ride for my riding buds is 350-400 miles! 200 miles is a walk in the park! I say go for it, and as far as a chance of rain, that can happen at any time. Carry a good rain suit and don't worry about it.

Many concerned family members worry about the highway and I think this is the *safest* place to ride. Everyone's going in the same direction at roughly the same speed, nobody is running a light or pulling a left turn in front of you, etc.

Ride the bike.
